I'm already thinking about my next car purchase which will be about 2
years from now (currently own Acura) and am really considering a hybrid
or the Lexus IS. Do you suppose Lexus could release an IS hybrid version
by then? That would close the deal for me, and I think it makes a lot
more sense than their SUV hybrid.

Lexus currently has hybrid versions of the RX (SUV) and the GS (sedan),
and has plans to release a hybrid version of the LS (sedan).

I haven't heard of other announced models/concepts, but that doesn't
mean that one isn't in the works... Check back at Lexus'
Future/Concept Vehicle site: http://www.lexus.com/fcv/ when it is time
for you to get a new vehicle.

Do be aware that the Lexus hybrids are more tuned for performance than
they are for fuel economy. If a lower initial purchase price or better
fuel economy is what you're after, you should look at the Toyota sister
car. (RXh->Highlander HV, GSh->Camry HV) The Toyota version usually
comes out the same time or a few months after the Lexus introduction.
