Toyota seems to playing delay tactics and dodgeball.

"The House Energy and Commerce Committee said Friday that documents
provided by Toyota Motor Corp. didn't appear to rule out electronic
defects in its vehicles and requested more information from the
automaker.

It said documents that had been turned over to the committee "fail to
show that Toyota has systematically investigated the possibility of
electronic defects."

So you haven't eliminated to the *congress's* satisfaction that there's
no electronic defects. An organization that to my knowledge includes no
electrical engineers, software developers, enbedded systems designers or
even anyone who runs linux on their home computer. They're simply not
qualified to make even a guess in that regard.
