Dear All,
I read the discussion about GM vs. Toyota. First of all, the way the
Japanese infiltrated our market goes back to the 1970's. Little by
little, they started building cars that were BETTER than the American
models. I remember we had Pontiac LeMans 1966 with a V8 engine. That
car, when you stepped on the gas, the engine would conk out. Have you
ever heard a Toyota doing that?
Toyota makes one of the finest cars in the world. Their cars are much
more gas efficient than the American models also. Compare the RX to a
Ford Explorer, and you tell me which one gets thebetter gas mileage.
The American auto companies have no one to blame but themselves. The
unions KILLED the auto industry in this country. It's only a matter of
time, strapped with pensions, medical costs, that are IMPOSSIBLE
numbers to reconcile. Why didn't the American makers come up with a
vehicle that gives us 25MPG on the road, and 35MPG on the highway?? Of
their own volition, I'm talking.
Then they would have sold more cars than the Japanese. It's still not
too late.
Anyway, keep on voting for Barack Obama, and we're going socialist
anyway, guys, he said today that if Europe doesn't like it, maybe we
should be eating less and stop driving those SUV's.
He's going to send us to re-education camps, just like the commies
did. Far fetched? You bet it isn't.
