Any Jaguar owners traded in for a Lexus? ha ha ha

Buick tied in the first-place ranking with the luxury Jaguar brand,
which was owned by Ford Motor Co. until June 2008, when it was sold to
Tata Motors.

The results were revealed as part of J.D. Power's long-term vehicle
dependability study, which was released Thursday and measures problems
experienced by the owners of 3-year-old cars, or those from the 2006
model year.

Automakers that perform well on J.D. Power's vehicle dependability
study typically gain market share in the future.

Just as in the other location where this was reported -

http://autos.yahoo.com/articles/autos_content_landing_pages/908/jaguar-buick-dethrone-lexus-in-reliability-study/

the story was that Lexus didn't win, as it has every single year since
it was included in the survey.

A couple of points john seems to have missed:

"In terms of individual model performance, Lexus and Toyota still do
very, very well."

"Despite losing its crown to Jaguar and Buick, Lexus still swept top
awards in four segments, while Toyota's namesake brand took five
awards. "

"Jaguar jumped from the No. 10 spot in 2008, while Buick leapt from
the No. 6 spot. The movement is notable for a study that is fairly
consistent from year to year, and the results marked the first time
Lexus was not either first or tied for first since it was first
included in the study in 1995. "

It's also interesting to note that the brands that john loves to call
the "real" luxury cars, BMW and Mercedes, came in 17th and 19th in the
same survey. Maybe if they put their noses to the grindstone they can
catch up to Subaru and Hyundai next year!

Does anybody here think john has posted this embarrassing news to the
BMW or Mercedes newsgroups?
